Hope's First Glue Gun Craft

Posted on April 23, 2015 at 8:45 PM Comments comments (0)

Hope (4) came to me with a few pom poms and some pipe cleaners in hand, exclaming that she was going to make a toy.

She started off trying to glue the pom poms together with a glue stick but found that didn't work so I suggested we try out the glue gun, much to Hope's delight.

We got it out, heated it up and assembled this 'blue bird', complete with googl...

Earth Day Project : Upcycled Sponge Bob Pillow

Posted on April 23, 2015 at 2:20 AM Comments comments (0)

Today was Earth Day and I was in the mood for a creative project while Hope and Daddy slumbered.

I had a white undershirt Hope (4) outgrew so I decided to cut the arm straps off, paint it yellow with a Sponge Bob Square Pants face and stuff it with rags.

Hope exclaimed as I was sewing it, " You make the best things! "  She is now cuddling it, happily.

Got eggs?

I took some old scrap material and sewed a quick littl...

I was itching for a project over the wknd so while painting with Hope, 4, I decided to whip up a batch of chalk board paint and paint a white part of a kitchen stand in our apt.

I was just going to do the bottom and then one thing led to another and the whole side was done. Hope immediately put her mark on it after I tried it out.
Loads of fun, looks cool and ...

Our lovely ( heavy with sarcasm ) internet provider, Bell, challenged us again with their services; we've settled with them but while we were isolated, I decided to share what we got up to.

We did ice experiments; made ice, ate ice. played with ice in the sink, put ice in a cup to watch it melt and make the water cold. Hope had a few sink baths as well; she loves them!

Getting into the Valentine's Day Spirit

Posted on January 17, 2015 at 2:25 PM Comments comments (0)

We love to decorate here.

I think Hope picked it up from me and I picked it up from Christmas being the most magical time of year for me as a child.

This year I wanted to take advantage of my favorite colours,...
